KS2 Summer Production

At St Mary’s, our aim is to equip every child with an exceptional range of opportunities throughout their seven-year journey with us, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Through acting, singing and dance, we ensure that every child is given a role and the chance to shine in a way that best suits their individual talents.

Since 2012, the children of St Mary’s have proudly taken to the stage each summer, performing for our school community and beyond. Our productions have included:

  • Oliver!

  • The Sound of Music

  • Pirates of the Curry Bean

  • Top of the Pops

  • The Sound of St Mary’s

  • Saturday Night at the Movies

These productions typically run for approximately two hours and feature well-known songs from popular culture and musical theatre. Alongside the children, members of our talented staff team also perform, taking on a variety of roles — from Maria in The Sound of Music to Tina Turner!

Producing a show of this quality is no small achievement and relies on the incredible support of our wider community. We are extremely fortunate to have dedicated volunteers who create costumes, manage sound and lighting, choreograph dance routines, and generously give their time during ‘show week’ to help with hair and make-up.

As a result, our annual productions have become a much-anticipated highlight of the academic year, regularly featuring in the press and selling out every performance. Above all, we are immensely proud to see our children grow in confidence and perform with such professionalism year after year.

All proceeds from tickets sales go to a local hospice charity. We are very proud that to date we have raised over £25,000!
