Our Parish and School Links

Children at St Mary’s have many opportunities throughout the liturgical year to visit and worship in St Maries Church. Each half-term, children are invited to attend Monday Mass, and once per term the school community is invited to join the parish for Sunday Mass. Pupils also visit the church to support their learning in Religious Education; for example, they may explore the church when learning about the Sacrament of Baptism. As the school term draws to a close for Christmas, children, their families, members of the parish, and the wider community come together in church to celebrate the birth of Jesus through a Carol Concert. Similarly, at the end of the Easter term, the school gathers in church for a special Easter Service. These opportunities allow our school family to come together with the parish community to pray reverently and celebrate key moments in the Church’s year.
